There is nothing regular about geeks, but there is a great blog called Regular Geek, and I am very happy to see it join the ranks of the Grand Effect network.
From his entrant post:
Probably the main purpose of this post is to announce that I am now a member of the GrandEffect blog network! Woohoo! Thanks go out to Sarah Perez and the whole gang at GrandEffect. You will now see the GrandEffect bar at the top of the page listing all of the members of the network. I highly recommend reading all of them if you do not already.
With this, the network has ten members, and for now, I think that is more than enough. Sarah has been talking about “what’s next” as we go forward, and it seems like we will be working more on the Grand Effect network site, as well as working with PerformancingAds on bringing our network together in selling network wide ads, once they re-enable the bundled sale feature.
It is definitely an exciting time for the network as we continue to all build our brands, and pass traffic to each other.
Please help me in welcoming Rob, aka Regular Geek to the mix by checking out the site.
For those of you looking to get an inside look into my thought process and some more details on me and my personality, check out this fairly long interview on Blueverse.
If you enjoy the interview, please give it a Sphinn.
I really enjoy doing interviews, and so if you have some interesting questions you would like to ask me for your blog, please let me know.
Some of you might remember that I was running a contest a little while back now called the XFEP Reader Interaction Contest. I have since tallied up the entries and was pleased to find that I had a fair number of entrants, though I included all of the people that followed me on twitter during the contest, even if they hadn’t followed me because of the contest, and I included those that commented on this blog, even if they didn’t comment knowing it would be an point towards them in this contest.
Using Random.org and a spread sheet of entrants, I began selecting winners for the prizes. For those of you that don’t remember what was up for grabs, jump on over to the previous post related to the contest, and take a gander.
And now for the winners…

So, I am looking through the speaker list for Blog World Expo, which is now less than a month away, and I am coming across some amazing names.
There are more than a few people I would love to meet at the conference that will be speaking there, and I am sure even more that will just be attending.
Here are some people I hope to spend ten seconds or more with *:
Chris Brogan
Rick Calvert
John Chow
Brian Clark
Zac Johnson
Jim Kukral
Deborah Ng
Wendy Piersall
Darren Rowse
Liz Strauss
Dave Taylor
Lorelle VanFossen
Gary Vaynerchuck
*please don’t feel bad if I didn’t mention you. I mostly picked the names of people I am star stuck by…
Well, it has finally been mostly confirmed that I will be speaking at a minimum of one session at Blog World Expo thanks in a big way to Deb Ng of Blog Talk Radio and Freelance Writing Jobs.
I will be speaking on a panel entitled, How to be More than a Blog: New Media Integration.
In today’s busy blogosphere, it’s not enough to have a blog. Using images, video, radio, podcasts and more can take a blog to a completely different level. In this session you’ll learn why bells and whistles are important and how easy it is to implement new media into your blog.
I am still hoping to speak on more panels if I am allowed, as I have an opinion on everything, even if it isn’t what most people would consider a correct opinion.
I will be in Las Vegas from 11pm on the 18th of September until 11pm on the 22nd of September. I would love to meet up with other attendees or readers in the area. I will be staying at the Riviera Hotel and Casino, but you’ll never find me in the casino part, so no worries on losing my shirt or anything.
This should be an amazing conference, and I am both very humbled and nervous to be speaking. Please let me know if you are going, what you think of Blog World Expo, even if you aren’t coming and if you can meet up with me while I am in town.
Also, if you are running a panel or conference, and would like me to speak, please feel free to contact me, as I would love to share what I have learned over the last three years.
