Teray Ghum ko jaan ki Talash thi.
Shaukat Ali is ranked in Pakistan's Top3 Loudest Singers with Inayat Hussain Bhatti and Alam Lohar. They all used to perform in Mela/Theatre initially without any microphone and still the persons in last row could listen them clearly and enjoy as good as the ones in first row. They were true Mela-winners and amzingly all of them had different items to sing. Bhatti sahab was expert in Heer Waris Shah, Alam Lohar's Jugni was his speciality and shaukat Ali used to sing Saif-ul-Malook at his best. Offcourse they used to sing other folk songs too and all three sang for Films as well.
Coming to current upload, Shaukat Ali did sing a number of Urdu Ghazals like u might have listened to his most famous "Jab Bahar aai to Sehra ki taraf Chal Nikla" (already on youtube) but here hes singing an immortal Ghazal of Faiz Ahmed Faiz in his own style and what a beautiful rendering he has given us in it. Mauseeqi ki term mein "koi jagah khali nahi rakhi", kahin lagged nahi, perfect sur aur taal kay sath lay-kaari ki hay.. aur aik ajeeb soz-e-dil kay sath gaya hay jisay sirf ehl-e-dil hi mehsoos kar sakein gay.

Dr.Bukhari
Note: If u cant get the essence of this ghazal, i'll recommend you to listen it in a complete peaceful environment and atleast 3 times listening to it. Thanx
