Updates to Xfep

I have worked on updating a few things over the past few days so that eXtra For Every Publisher could put its best foot forward for its 500th post.

The first thing that I hope you will all notice is that I have added a proper theme demo system to the ThemeTest install, making sure that you can now see any of the three themes I have released on this blog in an easy and intuitive manner. Don’t expect miracles from it, but it works well and I hope you will all give my WordPress themes another look.

Advertising rates have been updated to better reflect the rankings and size of the site. I have also signed up to use the Performancing Ads system which I will talk more about in the future. I highly recommend it, and I hope to control all of my advertising inventory through it as soon as possible.

Over on my blog consulting page, you can expect to find lowered rates which should make my consulting time more appealing to the early blogger. It is now only $50 for an hour of consulting.

Even the contact page has been changed as new contact information has been added to make it even easier to contact me when you really need to get a hold of me, but my contact form does e-mail the e-mail account I use most often, so I suggest trying that first.

These are just a few of the changes I have made on this blog over the past week, and I hope to continue to add, edit and streamline this blog so that it works as efficiently as possible for all of you looking to get into blogging.

Advertising Spots Open for June

If you have a product, site or service that you think my readers will enjoy, please contact me today about advertising on this blog.

I have a few spots open in the sidebar, as well as a variety of other inventory that can easily be replaced with your banner.

This blog has over 50,000 unique visitors a month with over 250,000 page views a month and so advertising rates are very inexpensive for the huge audience you would reach. You can start advertising on this blog starting as low as $60 for a 125×125 pixel banner.

Check out my advertising page for more details, and contact me today!

RSS Feed Oopsie: Moving Woes

So it looks like at least part of the problem I might have been having with my RSS feed membership numbers could be due to not remembering to re-enable the Feedburner plugin to forward my default WordPress feed to Feedburner.

If you have subscribed to my blog in the last few days, you should start to be counted. Not that you weren’t important before, but Feedburner didn’t see you.

Hopefully, this will mean a return to normal for me, and the last issue related to moving from shared hosting over to my VPS.

Run Out of Things To Say?

Lately, I have felt like I haven’t much else to say on building a blog, and what it means to be a full time blogger, and I assume this is in part because I have switched career paths, but I remain vigilant in making sure I don’t get “out of touch” with the community that I enjoy so much.

My wife, in telling her I felt like I had nothing new to say gave me some great advice, “talk about something different then”.

This blog has talked primarily about my experiences in being a network backed full time blogger, but now, with a few other things on the go, I want to talk more about starting a blog, growing a blog, maintaining a blog, and my experience as the Community Manager for PicApp.

The shift won’t be too crazy, as many of the posts I have written before are beneficial for bloggers of all experience levels, needs and backgrounds, but there will be a slight shift in content as my life and interest continue to shift.

My Process: Moving to a New Webhost – Part 2

So, I have finally changed the DNS over, and I plan on writing a much longer post soon about the steps I have taken between the first article and the DNS switch, but I wanted to put up a post saying that if you see this post, you are looking at the new hosting. Hopefully, it will be faster, stronger, better.

If you notice anything strange, please let me know as I made some mistakes in how I moved the site, but I think I worked them all out.
