WordPress Podcast Roundup

The WordPress Podcast and WordPress Weekly have put out new episodes this week, giving us WordPress fans something to listen to.

I was part of WordPress Weekly this week as they did Episode 19. I wasn’t on the podcast as much as I had hoped, as I had to pick up my wife, and my MacBook Pro decided to run out of battery life, but overall it was a great show.

The WordPress Podcast comes back with Episode 42, one of the longest episodes to date. It actually talks a bit about WordPress Weekly, and how WordCamp in San Francisco will be the same time as the last day of the Podcast and New Media Expo. I originally thought I would attend WordCamp, but dealing with the flight, hotel and other attendance issues made me decide to stick it out at the bigger, more expensive New Media Expo instead.

I am looking forward to more episodes from both shows, and I hope to eventually get back on the WordPress Podcast at some point, if Charles will ever invite me…

Keep listening on WordPress Weekly, where I will continue to try to keep my Friday nights open for the show.

More of Me Podcasting: TechCanuck Episode 18

James Cogan of dailypixel and I got together for another great episode of the TechCanuck podcast. This one is a bit more negative than people are used to as we rant and rave about a few outrageous things happening in the world of technology today.

Show Notes:
a) Canadian Copyright Reform has been officially tabled in the form of Bill C-61. How will this affect Canadians? Is this good for Canadians? We discuss.

b) The iPhone finally gets a Canadian launch date. Yay or yawn?

c) The Associated Press launches an assault against bloggers for using headlines and excerpts of AP news stories. It didn’t take long for the blogosphere to send an overwhelming reaction of displeasure back at AP. What the heck is AP thinking?

d) Google-Yahoo-Microsoft: What is going on inside the GYM? We discuss.

It was definitely an interesting episode, and both James and I got fairly heated at times, but that makes it all the more interesting to listen to.

WordPress in Review Podcast: Episode 1

So I have decided to do a little bit of WordPress podcasting of my own, and so coming to you weekly will be WordPress in Review. WordPress in Review will be a relatively short podcast giving you quick updates on the latest WordPress news, information, themes, and a dash of my own personal opinion.

I was well known for being the “negative” one on the WordPress Podcast, and I can assure you that I won’t always be like that, but it is in my nature to point out things that I think are wrong, and so I hope you will all enjoy the WordPress in Review Podcast.

More of Me Podcasting: WordPress Weekly Episode 16

Last night, after mowing the lawn, I remembered that I wanted to jump on Skype to listen live to the new episode of the WordPress Weekly podcast, and is sometimes the case, I was also able to participate. WordPress Weekly Episode 16 was a lot of fun to participate in, and I think went really well.

From the show notes:

This week on WordPress Weekly, it was open mic week. However, it didn’t work out as I imagined and thankfully, I had a list of news items to use as a backup plan. It also helped that a couple of regulars who had some free time on their hand showed up to participate in the show. After letting listeners know about the renewal of the domain jeffro2pt0.com for two years, I dove into some feedback that I had received from listeners of the show. After that, introductions were made and then we dove into the news. This panel made one hell of a good show.

One thing that amused me about this and many past episodes is that Charles Stricklin showed up and participated. If he shows up on many more episodes of WordPress Weekly, people are going to start to wonder which podcast is his, though I have to say that it is great to hear him on any/every WordPress related podcast.

Also, for those of you that follow Matt Mullenweg around, I am sure you will be excited to know that in an upcoming episode of WordPress Weekly, Matt will be making an appearance, so keep checking out Jeffro2pt0 for more details.

Thanks again to Jeff, and if you are interested in listening live, or participating, episodes are recorded every Friday night at 9pm EST.
