When you’re setting up your business website for the first time, it can be hard to know what information you should include. While you want to be able to give your visitors everything they may need to feel comfortable working with you, you also don’t want to overwhelm them with too much information. And for many small business owners, this can be a hard balance to strike. So to help make this a little easier on you, here are three things you should have on every page of your business website in order to help everything function more effectively.
N.A.P.
One of the most important things to have on every page of your website, especially if you have a local business with a brick and mortar location, is your N.A.P, or your name, address, and phone number. According to contributors to Moz.com, you’ll want to include your full name, address, and phone number, not just the address. This information not only helps your customers to find you and contact you is they have any questions, but it also makes it easier for you to have consistent information across the Internet and all platforms that work as directories for you, which should also include your hours of operation. Part of this consistency means that you have all the same information on every page of your website and showing up for all the search results for your business, so make sure you’re always giving out accurate and current information for your N.A.P.
Calls-To-Action
In addition to making it easy for your visitors to find you through your website by including your name, address, and phone number, you also want to make it easy for your visitors to complete any actions you desire of them by making your calls-to-action very clear and apparent on every page of your website. If you don’t know what the call-to-action on your page is, then there’s no way your visitors will know either, so make sure you have a clear goal with every page. To best showcase these goals, Lindsay Kolowich, a contributor to HubSpot.com, recommends having two or three calls-to-action above the fold so your visitors are well aware of what actions you’d like them to take from the current page they’re on.
Proof Of Security
To help your visitors feel safe and secure with work with your business, you should also include proof of the security of your website on every page. According to Entrepreneur.com, this could mean making your secure hosting well known through having https:// on your URL. You could also show small icons of security certificates you’re worthy of. All of these pieces of evidence will show your visitors that you’re trustworthy and that you take their online security seriously.
If you want to improve your small business’s website, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you do just that.
