200th Post: Feedback Please!

So in less than four months I have written two hundred posts on eXtra for Every Publisher. That means thus far I have created around fifty posts a month, and I think that says a fair bit about my commitment to creating content in this niche.

I also think that my work has been well reflected in my stats thanks to all of you, my readers.

Since I started this blog, I have had 26,199 unique visitors, served 116,018 page views, and burned through 7.62 gigabytes of bandwidth. This blog currently has 183 RSS subscribers according to Feedburner, has a Technorati rank of 25,254 and an Alexa rank of 78,077. I am currently sitting in the 57th spot of 45n5.com’s Top 100 Make Money Online blogs list. Every one of these statistics are continuing to rise, making me a very happy blogger.

Now it is time for feedback though. What posts have you liked on this blog? What do you like about Xfep? What do you dislike? It is time to stop lurking. If you haven’t commented before, please do, and for those that have commented, please send your feedback my way as well.

This blog is about providing my readers with my knowledge. I know I haven’t been doing much in that respect over the last little while, but I am working on some great articles that should remedy that. What would you like to see me cover? What have I missed in my blogging? Have I gone too far with my advertising and monetization strategies or have you hardly noticed?

I am working on bringing in some contributors to this blog so that we can have more than just my views an opinions. Is this a wise move, or would you rather just hear from me?

Please speak up and comment today!

Teaching Sells Members-Only Affiliate Program

Teaching Sells Affiliate ProgramSo, the long talked about Teaching Sells Affiliate program is now live, with only certain members being accepted into its ranks so that you won’t have to compete with all of the over 800 currently members out of the starting gate.

They say that they are only accepting members in good standing, and so while I have been reading all the content, and absorbing it all, I haven’t been communicating much on the forum, and am unsure what the qualifications are for being considered in “good standing”.

We will pay you 50% of the initial sign-up fee (currently $197) when someone joins Teaching Sells from your referral. Plus, we will also continue to pay you 50% of the monthly recurring fees (currently $49) for that subscriber who remains in good standing beyond the first three month period.

Interestingly enough, the affiliate page goes on to say what I have already expected, they are holding back content until the three month anniversary of the site, meaning that if you want to continue to get all the great things that they have thought up, you will have to sign up for another three months at the $47 renewal rate.

Sounds like a first rate affiliate program though, and I can see some people, with a huge amount of community clout making a killing off the nearly $100 per new member earnings that are possible.

Splashpress Media’s New Head of Marketing: Me, David Peralty

Splashpress MediaOver the last two years I have been working with Bloggy Network LLC as Jacob Gower is basically the guy that “discovered me” and gave me a full time professional blogging job. After the first year, I then became the Director of Communications at the company, and while it was a great title, it didn’t fit. I was doing so many things behind the scenes, I didn’t feel like I was really communicating anymore.

Over the last three months, I have been diving into the web once again, trying to network, and make new friends online, and so when Bloggy Network decided they were going to sell some of their key blogs, Splashpress Media wanted me as part of the package.

As part of my own little ego trip, I tell myself that they bought the sites not to get the huge audience that comes with them, but instead only to be able to add me to their already amazing team of writers, developers, designers and marketers.

What Does This Mean for Me?

Well, for me, it means I continue to have a career online doing what I love. I will also be resuming my work in the limelight on some amazing blogs, including some of the newly acquired Splashpress properties, and some current pillars of their network.

I will also be working on expanding my array of skills. I will be doing screencasts, internet marketing, and helping manage the advertising budget. I will also work on building the Splashpress brand. This will hopefully mean that you can all meet up with me at a variety of conferences, which would be hugely rewarding for me, as I pretty much only ever see my wife and her cat.

What Does This Mean for You?

Well, in my new position, I will get to expand my knowledge and pass on what I learn to you, my readers. I will also be chronicling this change, and talking more about what it is like to be in a Blog Network. I will be able to make comparisons between working at Bloggy Network and working for Splashpress Media. It should help bring some amazing content to you all.

I will also have access to what is going on at Splashpress Media, meaning that contests, events, amazing stories will all be covered here, so you can all get in on them early, and have the best chances for being part of what’s going on.

Lastly, I will know about any openings in the company for writers, and support staff, so if you are interested in becoming a problogger, keep watching this blog, as I might have some great news about that in the future.

Is This Blog a Splashpress Media Blog?

No, it is still my own project, and just like Bloggy Network didn’t filter what I said on here, Splashpress Media also will not have that power. I can’t teach with hands tied behind my back, and everyone knows that. The things you have come to expect from eXtra for Every Publisher will not change.

Splashpress Media Business Card

Splashpress Media Business Card

Now I feel like part of the Splashpress Media family as I have my business cards all printed up and ready to hand out.

I ordered them from VistaPrint, and they did a good job of printing them at a reasonable quality, and getting to me super fast.

While I am not really a designer, Splashpress didn’t have a business card template set up, and so I went and made my own. Thankfully, they turned out better than I could have hoped.

Let me know what you think of my design. Hopefully, at some point, a real designer will take a stab at it and make something even nicer.

If you do get a Splashpress card off me, make sure you hold on to it because next time it will most likely be different. And we all know that my business cards should be collector items, right? (that was an attempt at humour…)

Shylock Blogging Not For Sale

So it seems Alexandru is not selling Shylock Blogging for the $4000 he had sold the blog for. After the buyer of the site decided to make things complicated, Alexandru took a moment to think about what he was doing. He and I had talked over instant messaging about the sale, and he wasn’t feeling good about getting out of the make money online blogging niche yet, despite the great prices the blogs are going for.

My recent post, entitled Selling Your Readership, was salt in his wound, and also part of the process that changed his mind and has led to him keeping Shylock Blogging. I couldn’t be happier to see a great guy keep his blog and continue to compete in this niche.
